4.0 out of 5 stars - What's worth reading

A book of reviews of books- quite an ingenious idea. I have thought many times I need to read this book and that book and my list gets so long I never get to any of them- here the author gives detailed, mostly objective, informative reviews of said books. Do take these reviews with a grain of salt though! Christian standards and views are heavily influenced in this book.
I found particularly helpful the dissection of "The Astonishing Dream of Job"- I felt it a turning point where the author truly steps back and considers more other's feelings and opinions than in other reviews. He breaks down the ego/soul/human spirit in an objective easy to understand way as opposed to a religious way as the book was trying to get at. His understanding of these concepts are honestly much more concise than the original author. I appreciate that the more he reviews the more he empathizes with other views but still keeps to his own.
Few people can have the patience and understanding to see others views let alone seek it out as the author does in reading books he knows he won't agree with. I have not read anything like it. The only thing I would say could be a bit of a stumbling point would be the run-on sentences; which I know I have a problem with myself. Overall an excellent review of books that now I can comfortably seek out myself with a little nudge of guidance.
